Spigot Maintenance
24 Oct 2012
*Be sure to follow the Maintenance instructions as outlined in the Installation and Operation Manual of your oven.
In order to prevent a dangerous build up of grease, soot or creosote that could potentially start a flue fire, the spigot(s) of the oven should be cleaned at least weekly, or daily for those ovens fitted with char grill. The following images show how and where to clean the oven exhaust spigot(s) which is located directly above the door of the oven. Place a sheet of newspaper or a container below the spigot to catch any debris when cleaning.
