Beech Custom Char Grills
Beech Ovens - Custom Designed Char Grill / Rotisserie Units

Beech Ovens, world leaders in custom designed, high performance cooking items, have been supplying high quality char grills as part of our product range for many years now. Many of these char grills have been custom built to a designer's specification, providing a very unique and high performance piece of display cooking equipment.
We have recently built a number of custom designed char grills with skewers above for multi-featured cooking.
The units feature the high performance Beech char grill as circular or rectangular units. Built over these units can be a number of motorised skewers for slow roasting of whole fish or other items above the grill. This is a highly visual feature allowing guests to watch a variety of foods being freshly prepared.

Amongst these developments in char grills is the Lechon grill. This grill was custom built for a Shangri-La Hotel and features a charcoal grill with rotisserie units above for both fish and small items (the rear angled units) and a larger rotisserie above the grill for small pigs and similar sized items.
Another unique variation has recently been supplied to a restaurant in Moscow. This display cooking unit features a char grill with 4 angled skewers at the rear, and a side griddle plate.
This style of grill and combined rotisserie unit allows the traditional outdoor BBQ and spit roast to be brought into the modern display kitchen to create both a visual and gastronomic feast.

Designed for Your Restaurant

Multi-Door Ovens
Our custom built multi-door ovens are seeing a dramatic rise in popularity as clients are continually looking for a versatile oven which also creates a point of difference.
Beech Ovens have set ourselves apart with our ability to custom build an unmatched variety of features into our ovens. Currently many of our orders call for customised features such as added viewing windows, internal spotlights, char grills, unusual shapes and sizes and even removable rotisserie units.
Recently 2, 3 or 4-door ovens seem to have come into their own and no two are the same.
Many multi-door ovens feature char grills inside the ovens, but some (such as the oven installed in the A?Rosa Hotel in Berlin, below right) feature only the stone hearth for cooking pizza or other menu items in pans or clay pots.
Some installations have placed separate ovens side by side behind a single façade. When doing this Beech Ovens can customise the door spacing so that the final effect includes evenly spaced doors. The advantage of having separate chambers within the oven is that they can be controlled at different temperatures, allowing a greater variety of menu items to be cooked at the one time.
An example of this is the 4-door oven in the Grand Hyatt Tokyo. This oven features 2 x 2-door ovens installed to appear as one large oven. One oven is maintained very hot for cooking steaks on the grill and pizza or pan dishes on the stone floor. The second oven is a little cooler and is used to cook fish on the grill and breads on the stone floor. (Read a review of this restaurant)
Many of our clients do not cook pizza at all, but use the ovens for a very diverse menu. If you are looking for ideas for menu items, please have a look at the Creative Cooking page on our website or view the Gourmet Cooking video on our free marketing CD.
Menu is only one factor determining the custom features of an oven. Restaurant design also plays a major part, and Beech ovens are often customised to suit an individual restaurant layout. The rectangular oven featured in the Foreign Correspondents Club in Siem Reap, Cambodia has a window facing the dining area, with a mouth for pizza at one end and a char grill on the opposite end. This layout allows 2 chefs to operate the 2 areas of the oven completely independently and with maximum efficiency within their section of the open kitchen.

Customised features can be purely for visual effect. These features include the viewing window, internal spotlights, custom shaped doors, display gas flames and ceramic logs. In some instances our custom ovens are being designed to be used as display fireplaces when they are not being used for cooking.
